Recluce is a huge series. I've read about half the books. I haven't found one that was unlikable or tedious. The action moves right along and the characters are well formed and the good guys are likable and believable. Try 'em you'll like 'em.

I enjoyed the book. The Recluce series seems to be about a place over a span of hundreds of years. The characters are extremely well drawn. Am slowly plodding my way through all 12 books.
