HER BIGGEST FAN IS ABOUT TO BECOME HER WORST NIGHTMARE...
When she wakes up, she's very cold. Colder than she's ever been in her life. She can't move or speak. And then she sees him. The one who took her. And before she dies, she wishes she could scream...
Former movie star Jenna Hughes left Hollywood for an isolated farm in Oregon to get away from fame. But someone has followed her—an obsessed fan whose letters are personal and deeply disturbing. While Jenna's already shaken up by what she's seen on paper, she'd be terrified if she knew what Sheriff Shane Carter is investigating. It's a shocking case that started with the discovery of a dead woman in the woods. Now two more women are missing, one of whom bears a striking resemblance to Jenna....
As a winter storm bears down on the Pacific Northwest, a merciless killer's grisly work has only just begun. Jenna is getting closer to meeting her biggest fan-one who wants nothing more than to see her dead...

I didn't like this book. I was going to give up on the author completely but I have read others by her that are a lot better. This one was just too weird for me.

Excellent book, one of the few I've read by Jackson. Well developed story and characters. I look forward to reading the sequel, Fatal Burn.

Lisa Jackson is a favorite. And this one I could not put down. When I got to the end of the book, and I was at work, and didnt have the sequel to it with me, I threw the book across the room, lol.

mystery/murder. When she wakes up she's cold. She cannot move or speak and then she sees him. The one that took her. Before she dies, she wishes she could scream. Women are dying who look like the main character of the book -- but the murderer is just perfecting his style to get it right when he gets his intended victim!

When beautiful Jenna Hughes moves with her two children to a small Oregon town in bestseller Jackson's well-crafted romantic thriller, the retired movie star expects to start a quiet new life, but a psychotic fan's deadly obsession soon throws the tranquil community into chaos. One by one, women are kidnapped by a serial killer who hopes to mold them into the likeness of his favorite actress, and Jenna knows that it's only a matter of time before she's the next victim. Jackson (The Morning After) weaves together various subplots, including Jenna's relationship with her rebellious teenage daughter and the inevitable love interest with the rugged local cop, to create a fast-paced and surprisingly complex story. Unfortunately, the focus on the villain's absolute evil rather than on his humanity doesn't allow him to be as disturbing as he could be, but most of the other smalltown characters are more believable. The depiction of the protagonist, a woman who desperately wants her life to be as normal as possible, reaches an unusual depth, and the crisp, skillful language infuses every sentence with suspense. Despite some predictable moments and over-the-top torture scenes, this chilling novel about the high price of fame will keep readers riveted.
