Book Description:
Lisa Beamer was thrust into the national spotlight after her husband, Todd, led a counterattack against terrorists on United Flight 93. He--and all the other passenger heroes--lost their lives in a Pennsylvania field. But that plane was the only one of the four hijacked planes on 9-11 that didn't hit its target--most likely the White House or the Capitol. Todd's last known words, "Let's roll!" have become a rallying cry for the entire American nation to move ahead in hope, courage, and faith, despite today's troubled times, and to live real life...right now.

Even though we know the story, this book reminds us of the sacrifices made on 9-11.I read this about 3 years after it happened and it really brought the feelings of the nation back to me as if it happened yesterday. Well written.

Very inspiring! A tragic account of Todd Beamer's life before and after 9/11 (on flight 93) and how his pregnant wife was able to carry on.

I wanted to like this book but I just thought the writing was really awful!

This sat on my bookshelf for a while because I figured it would be a depressing read focused on the Sept 11 tradgedies many of us watched unfold. However, what I found in this book was so much more than just an account of what happened on that flight. Instead of simply recounting what happened and the aftermath, I found Lisa chose to be a beacon of light by demonstrating how her faith and unwavering belief in a higher power helped her work through the pain and to live the best life she could for herself and family. This is what really stood out the most - the human spirit, the kindness of others and finding the strength to go on despite all of the horrors. Having recently experienced a sudden and tragic death in my immediate family only 6 weeks ago, as I struggle with tremendous grief, I couldn't help but find solace and comfort in her words. I remember seeing Lisa on Oprah years ago and thinking I would pick up the book but never did. I happened to see it here on the swap and am so glad I ordered it. Highly recommended.

in Let's Roll, Todd's wife, Lisa, reveals what really happened on that ill-fated flight, as well as poignant glimpses of a genuine American Hero. She talks candidly about Todd's growing up years, their marriage and last week together, and then family moments without him--the devastating day her children learned their daddy had died, how they celebrated his first birthday without him, the mix of grief and joy when she gave birth to their third child, and how she's found the confidence to go on in the face of such tragedy and loss.
It's no wonder that, through this unpretentious homemaker andmother, an entire nation can find hope, find inspiration, find strength. Let's Roll!

OK read. Despite subject material, I didn't finish this book.

Although many may see this book as sad her faith was very inspiring to me and we all know the story of 9-11. I couldn't put the book down, it felt like Lisa Beamer included us personally in her own story. An excellent read.
