Book Description:

A MYTHIC WARRIOR WHO'LL STOP AT NOTHING TO POSSESS HER...

After enduring years of torture from the vampire horde, Lachlain MacRieve, leader of the Lykae Clan, is enraged to find the predestined mate he's waited millennia for is a vampire. Or partly one. This Emmaline is a small, ethereal half Valkyrie/half vampire, who somehow begins to soothe the fury burning within him.

A VAMPIRE CAPTURED BY HER WILDEST FANTASY...

Sheltered Emmaline Troy finally sets out to uncover the truth about her deceased parents -- until a powerful Lykae claims her as his mate and forces her back to his ancestral Scottish castle. There, her fear of the Lykae -- and their notorious dark desires -- ebbs as he begins a slow, wicked seduction to sate her own dark cravings.

AN ALL-CONSUMING DESIRE...

Yet when an ancient evil from her past resurfaces, will their desire deepen into a love that can bring a proud warrior to his knees and turn a gentle beauty into the fighter she was born to be?

This is a great paranormal romance. It is a keeper, for me. I find myself rereading certain sections. Emma is half Valkyrie/half Vampire, raised in a Valkyrie coven, sheltered. She grows up insecure about herself, among her sisters. Then she encounters Laclain, her lifemate, who wants to hate her because she's Vampire. A great read.

Wow, what a great new series this is going to be. Loved that she has so many different beings involved. Lachlain & Emmaline's story is very good and I'm looking forward to the next w/Kaderin. You will not be disappointed.

This toss-up between a half valkyrie-half vamp and a werewolf is a far more original idea than what I've shoved un-read under my bed lately. Kresley Cole starts out the book with a chase through Paris that has us wondering if the guy is really going to catch our valkyrie-vamp or just wreck the city getting there. Although the Scottish werewolf is a bit macho for my taste and has to get over the disgust of being attracted to a vamp of any kind, the relationship between these two takes off quickly and does develop into something...well almost believable. It's a great starter for a series! 4 stars, could have been 5 but that cover...please

I am a huge fan of paranormals. I don't mind a little (or even sometimes, a lot) of sex in the books I read. I picked this book up because it's had so many great reviews, but after two chapters of the heroine basically being terrorized and molested by the "hero" (including him telling her that he would rape her if he weren't feeling so weak, and forcing her to take a shower with him while he fondled her), I put it aside. The story was making me feel physically sick. I'm glad it's wishlisted here, since that means I'll be getting it out of my house asap.

Modern setting. After suffering years of torture from the vampire horde, Lachlain, leader of the Lykae Clan, is enraged to find that his predestined mate is a vampire. But she is only half vampire, and out to find the truth about her parents. She isn't thrilled to find herself mated to a Lykae.....

This book was great. I can't wait for more stories from this author..

I had never heard of this author and saw the cover one day while browsing the bookstore shelves. I am so glad that I picked this one up! It was great read. I really liked the characters and am looking forward to the next in the series. It appears that the series is going to run similar to Kenyons Dark Hunter books with the following stories being on a secondary character from the book preceding it. I like that because it gives me a chance to learn more about characters that caught my interest and dig deeper into their lives.
