This book for the most part is about celebrating the holidays with divorced parents. It shows the pain this caused in Julies older sister...and the unhappiness the differences bring to the kids. Ivy, Julie's friend brings the family together for Chinese New Year, while this book may have a role in this series of books to be honest I really did not enjoy it much..I think it is very unlikely a friend could get divorced parents together...for a celebration... Yep this is a bit unlikely. Also I feel it contains less history in the story by itself... it does however contain the historical section in the back.
