This is the second Grumbach book I've read. It's good, but not great to me. It's her style more than the content that doesn't appeal to me. That may be an influence of the time when it was written. I don't think I would read it a second time.

I was really looking forward to reading this, but it didn't live up to my expectations. It just wasn't funny. Cute maybe, but not funny. I do like Ellen, so it was disappointing.

So far my favorite of Karin Kallmaker's books. It is well-written and not over-written. I enjoyed the story and character development. Characters are real.
