These books give little snippets of facts about the animals they discuss... most of the pictures are in 3 d format and helps with the visual aspect of processing info... i find that my children were able to retain MORE of the facts in these series of books than other "species" books and i'm sure it was the "fun factor"

I really like the recipes, and from what I remember about my childhood cookery, they all seem to be authentic (albeit simplified). The black and white pictures leave a lot to the imagination, and the pictures are VERY dated but I must consider the year it was printed.

Over all, most of the recipes have been extremely useful AND delicious! Thank you Miss Tufford!

This book holds my children's attention... encourages them to try harder words to sound out and provides enough fun distractions through drawing that the effort and sometimes frustration of reading tougher words is forgotten!

Signing at School (Beginning Sign Language Series) (Signed English)
Review Date: 9/23/2009

Simple. Easy.

My 8 year old is learning sign language independently. He has really enjoyed this entire series and says it is easy to learn signs.

I will echo other concerns I have read. The book doesn't emphasize mouthing the words while you sign or showing emotion. I have had to step in help him understand this, but he questions my correctness since the book doesn't mention it, nor do the pictures show emotion.

All together a B Average.
