I do not understand the science behind this book, so what was going on to create a superior race was way over my head, but the plot and characters I could follow and that's what got me through this book. Let's say I liked it enough to finish it although I didn't really understand some of what was going on.

Am presently using this book as a daily early morning devotion book for the year. It is good for that purpose-a short focus on your diet- with not much in depth beyond that.

I ordered this book because it was by a NC author and set in the mountains of NC. Am I glad I read it? Yes.
Is it my type of book? No If you like books about supernatural and ghosts and spooky places you might like this book. I couldn't figure out until the end of the book who were ghosts, who were alive and what it was really going on - maybe that's the way it was supposed to be. Difficult for me to rate and some who like this type book may rate it much higher.

This book gave me an even deeper understanding of Psalm 23, and an appreciation for a shepherd's life. It is easy to read and understand.
