The book was a decent read. I lived in the town in Indiana where this took place, so I was interested to see who and what I knew from Peru.

This book is a wonderful but heartbreaking read. Angela's life was scared at the tender age of 3 and she was continually sexually abused by her stepfather. Threats kept her quiet. The story broke my heart for the young child and growing woman, but seeing how she survived, overcame and has become a strong advocate against childhood sexual abuse shows made me cheer for one victim that wasn't totally destroyed by a monster.

Not Without My Sister: The True Story of Three Girls Violated and Betrayed
Review Date: 12/13/2009

I liked the book though at some points it was slow moving. The the topic was very disturbing and heartbreaking to imagine these 3 as well as thousands of children and young women enduring such abuse. I find it alarming that the group the girls were involved with still exists today.
