A wonderful, empowering book that bounces between the present day and life during WWII. Humorous, life-affirming, family-focused story that blends the two eras seamlessly together as a mature woman uncovers her true identity with the help of her family, her friends, and new acquaintences along the way. Don't miss this book!

Very interesting book about people who are sincerely trying to help normalize life for a savant and his famous mother. The audio book is very well executed.

This is a solo book not connected to the Anna Pigeon series - very worthwile saga of pioneer days in America where everyone scratched out a living the best they could. This could be made into a Hallmark Hall of Fame movie if Hallmark is daring enough. Very worthwhile!

This was an amazingly well-written who-done-it set in the land of the Mormons during modern times. A bit grizzly (only surrounding the method of murder) and told from the perspective of each of the 3 sister wives chapter by chapter.

For those of us bridged between our mothers and our daughters in philosophy of life, this book adds clear vision into our mothers' generation. Good stuff worth reading and pondering.

Not my favorite Benton Frank book, but still worth a read. It just depends on your point of view. I LOVED "Porch Lights" and have read almost everything she has written. Just not a personal favorite, but still a good read.

This is the slow-moving, rich characterization series I love. Best to read this series in order.

This was a disappointing sequel. All about the daughter and her husband and a stepdaughter. I found the characters in book one so interesting, but just couldn't find any hook to caring about the daughter's life.

I rate books on 2 levels...did I like it, AND would my mom like it? This book passes on both levels. I liked it a lot, and my mom will enjoy it too because she likes well-drawn characters that behave rationally. Too many books out there have improbable characters that act goofy. Try this book!

This is book #4 of a series, but is actually a prequel to the Stony Ridge Seasons Series. I couldn't get into it, and found that the characters didn't seem real. The series, however, is wonderful.

If you are a fan of CJ Box's game warden series, this series is right up your alley. Sheriff working a Wisconsin county that is sleepy in the winter and overcrowded in the summer. Riveting.
