OK, cough 'em up! I know ya'll have 'em. Favorite websites for free worksheets, curriculum, educational games, etc. Post them here, let's share the wealth.
A few of my faves are: (and I have too many to post them all) http://www.chartjungle.com/ the name says it all, a ton of charts, calendars, chore lists, etc
http://www.iknowthat.com/com?COOK a little bit of every classroom subject on this site
http://dictionary.reference.com/ not an exciting site but we use it quite a bit and they have a thesaurus too!
http://www.donnayoung.org/index.htm lots of homeschool record-keeping forms, organizational forms, etc
Saving the best for last!

HomeschoolEStore.com does one free e-book per week on their main page, with no purchase required. |

www.handsofachild.com has monthly freeby lapbooks. I got my first one free off homeschoolestore - and now have a supermembership - but I always get the free one too. We like the lapbooks. |

The "Links for Schooling" below are all either completely free resources, or like Hands of a Child, homeschool/educational vendors that offer free "samples." The Books link takes you to commerical homeschool vendors and free book related sites (i.e. free digital and audio books).
Each site has had at least a brief overview by me and I provide a summary of the contents. |

Thanks for all the great suggestions so far.
Let's keep them coming!

I love Enchanted Learning. You don't have to pay to use it, but it's worth it if you do. www.enchantedlearning.com/Home.html I also love Donna Young's page. |

I love homeschoolestore.com and hands of a child too! We are currently working on a lapbook on Mythological Creatures. I downloaded it free from homeschoolestore.com thanks to a tip from this forum. Lapbooks probably deserve a thread of their own--I am really enjoying this project (I hope my daughter is enjoying it as much as me--wink, wink) I have used Donna Young printables when I was finishing up our portfolio for last year. This year I am using: Homeschool Tracker by TGHomeSoft--I am using the free version of the software, you can upgrade to another version for a fee, but I think the free version is so complete! I had a little trouble downloading it at first until I downloaded all of my computer updates, then it downloaded just fine.--I believe someone on this forum recommended this site as well! This forum has been my most valuable resource by far! Thanks ladies! Amity |

Well, it isn't free unless you live close by, but it is 30.00 a year if you don't, or 20.00 if you are within 50 miles - and that is a great deal. The Chattanooga library offers a distance card that allows you to get every language of Rosetta stone at home on your personal PC. http://www.lib.chattanooga.gov/librarycards.html#online That is all levels, of all languages, that they offer! We got one and love it - of course 3 months later now our local library offers it, so now it is completely free for us. |

Char, what a great idea for a post! It's amazing to see so many resources available! (Kristi, I have been wondering recently if libraries offer a distant library cards...for the same purpose...Rosetta Stone!) Hey Amanda, thank you for the 50 states link. I found an unclaimed money website from that and have tracked down $$ for my hubby, 2 sisters-in-law, 1 brother-in-law and a friend! You guys might want to double check to make sure you don't have money sitting out there waiting for you...... My hubby's wasn't much, but enough to buy him a new computer game. LOL! Thanks again! |

Wow Amanda, what an awesome list! I loved Starfall for my little ones too.
By the way, how did you get the links in your post titled? I cut and pasted my links and they just read "link". You can't tell what's inside until you hover or click on it. |

The whole site is free to use and exchange and there are some free items listed. I hope this counts!

For a minute there I forgot where I was and was about to extol the virtues of my favorite book swapping site. LOL!! Here's one for timed math drills that we love. Here's the link for addition but they have sub, mult, and div as well. You must answer 20 questions before the minute timer runs out, then it grades you and you can print out a certificate of achievement with your name on it. We love it! www.oswego.org/ocsd-web/games/Mathmagician/mathsadd.html ETA: how come mine doesn't say Link like everyone else's? Last Edited on: 3/14/08 12:51 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |
