This is the second book in the Mephiston Covenant. Faegen would like to write more books in this series but right now this is the last book she has on contract for this series. It was an okay book, I didnt like it quite as much as The Mephisto Covenant.

This is a decent enough read about the Mephisto brother Kyros and the presidents daughter Jordan. When Jax and Sasha see Jordan they know immediately that she is Anabo. They plan on telling the other Mephisto brothers eventually. Then Jordan is kidnapped by their evil brother Eryx, Eryx wants to force Jordans father (the president of the US) to sell his soul to Eryx to save his daughter. This is not acceptable and Kyros goes to rescue Jordan and realizes that she is his intended and the only way he can make his way to Heaven.

As I mentioned in my review of The Mephisto Covenant, these books reminds me of a YA version of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. The Mephisto brothers are charged with keeping humanity safe from the people who turn evil and sell their souls to Eryx. Their only chance at redemption is to find an Anabo and get her to love him. The brothers are tortured sons of Hell whose only hope at redemption are the pure Anabo girls who are so rare.

Kyros was a good character, he is the leader of the Mephisto brothers and practical to a fault. He is not romantic but, from the moment he meets Jordan, he wants to be.

Jordan is much more determined and tough than Sasha was, she has a very strong will and is the perfect match for Kyross tendency to be a control freak. She is practical and self-sacrificing, but always keeps things in perspective.

The above being said the characters felt very...well...stereotypical for this type of story. They had good chemistry but never really tugged at my heartstrings. They were okay to read about, but seemed similar to a million other paranormal YA couple out there.

The story itself was also fairly predictable. There were a couple good twists to the story, but I still had no trouble predicting how everything would end up.

The book is an easy read and is well written. There is a bit too much of the character hashing and rehashing their emotions for me (like a couple hundred pages too much). But it was a decent story. While I didnt find it completely engaging or all that interesting, I didnt really find it offensive either.

Overall an okay addition to this series. If you are interested in a YA version of the Black Dagger Brotherhood this series is similar in tone (without all the violence and sex). The characters were pretty stereotypical to a YA paranormal story and the story was predictable. There was also a bit too much emotional description going on. Still while this book didnt wow me, it didnt really offend me either. I guess if you are interested in another YA paranormal romance you might want to check this series out.
