Clare Kimball is a talented and famous sculptor who is trying to leave her past behind. She grew up in the small town of Emmitsboro, Maryland, which on the surface seems an idylic place to raise a family. Clare has been haunted by nightmares since her father committed suicide under mysterious circumstances. Her art begins to reflect the darkness in her dreams, and she finds herself back in Emmitsboro digging for the truth of her family, her past, and her hometown and the evil that lurks behind some of the faces that are most familiar to her.
