This is another book that has had lots of reviews, but I'm gonna give it a try anyway ...

This is the sequel to A Child Called It and it focuses on the authors life from age 12 to age 18. It is another book that I read in less than one day, just because I couldn't put it down because it is an incredibly sad true story and I just HAD to see how it ended.

Although Dave Pelzer mentioned in his last book that this book would answer a lot of the questions left over from A Child Called It ... I didn't find them and was a wee bit disappointed in that fact, but like he says ... who will ever know WHY a parent abuses their own child.

I didn't tear up as much reading this book as I did the first, but I was more ANGRY that no one saw through this "mother" and what she was doing or if they did see it ... try to stop it. I also LOVED LOVED LOVED the foster parents that Dave had ... my grandparents were foster parents for MANY years (in fact, my aunt is a foster child that they had from 1st grade until ... well, she never left and she is now almost 50!! and she is as much as my aunt as my aunt by blood) ... and how they helped him see that he never did anything wrong and that he IS someone ...

This is still a book that I don't think I would want to read again ... but I am so happy that I did read it ... it's wonderful to know that there really are STRONG people out there that can rise above their upbringing. I just wanted to give him a hug althoughout this entire book ...

The final book in this series is called A Man Named Dave ...
