Wow, I really enjoyed this story! If you are looking for something relatively light to lose yourself in for a few hours, then this is it! The characters are likable, though they have their flaws so they don't come off as being "perfect." Set in the Middle Ages, Sir Blaidd Morgan is sent on a mission by the king to investigate Lord Throckton to see if rumors of treason have ground. Blaidd and his squire set off for the estate posing as yet another noble seeking to court Throckton's lovely daughter Laelia. However, the first person he encounters isn't Laelia, but Throckton's other daughter Becca who is a free spirit and doesn't conform to society's image of "a lady." She also suffers from a childhood injury that makes her "unmarriageable" by society's standards at the time. Blaidd, however, is smitten with her but has to balance those feelings with his mission. He cannot compromise his mission (where he has to pose as courting her sister) and cannot risk revealing anything to Becca and risk putting her in danger. Though there are a few steamy scenes, this is mainly a love story about how two people are looking to be together against all odds. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this story! :-)
