You know what? This is such a cute story that I could actually picture it being a nice rated PG movie for kids and families to enjoy. It was well written! I give it 3.5 stars.
Cedar and her family have just suffered from tragedy but go to stay the summer at a house in a town where one of her parents seemed to have grown up in or at least where the family has been a few times to. There is a festival that is held all summer long called Summerlost with Shakespearean plays and fun for families. Cedar ends up wanting to work there, even though she is only 12. Another part of the story is about a famous person who had grown up and died in the town. She had been the star of several plays held at Summerlost. Her death is somewhat of a mystery though. Cedar and a friend named Leo are going to try to figure out what happened. This book is about friendship mainly and accepting some hard circumstances in order to live. It is a good coming-of-age story. It was a fast read too.
