This book has a great storyline. Unfortunately, the writing could not stand up to the storyline. The characters are not developed well. The only thing saving the characters was my love of Arthurian legend. I had enough of a background in the subject that my mind was able to fill in a lot of the blanks. The dialog bordered on stupid at more than one point in the book. By page 25, I was starting to question why I would bother finishing the book. But it was late and I was too lazy to get out of bed to find another book. When I got up the next morning, I had about 100 pages to go and I was still questioning why I was bothering. The storyline was the only thing that kept me going, and I hate to say, it got weaker the further into the story I got. Honestly, I thought the solution to the problem was pure genius. If the book had ended there, I would be able to rate this book better. But no, the author had to keep writing. For another 2 chapters. Just to set up the sequel. Which I will not be bothering with.
