This hardcover book is an examination of the Sermon on the Mount in its entirety from Matthew chapter 5 through chapter 7. The book thus covers not only the Beatitudes, but also the many parables and other commands found in these chapters. I found the authors use of language and phrasing to be awkward at times. But, most key points were repeated and rephrased so that it is not difficult to grasp his meaning. My main difficulty arose in note taking where the unexpected phrasing required me to refer back to the text often in order to complete my own notes.

The book is limited to just under 150 pages in length which limits the attention that can be given to any one portion of the subject verses. However, I found the book successfuly furthered my knowledge of the topic and I certainly don't regret giving up my time to read it.
