While some books are exceptions, Craig has some very interesting murder plots. When the text is about the mystery, it is engaging. It is the filler which annoys me. Although I do have to admit, unlike all Craig's previous books in this series, J.W. only had two beers in this book and in neither case did he go on about how wonderful it was.

Instead, in this book, he has J.W. focusing on his newborn son's dirty diapers and how often he has to change them. And, in one case, Craig has the baby urinating in Zee's face. Plus J.W. tells us over and over again how he hauls his son around the island in a frontal carrying position.

As for the mystery, I figured out early in the book who the murderer was, but not the reason for it. And I also knew early on how they would identify who killed the biologist. Still, the mystery, as I said above, was engaging. And I was really impressed when Craig spent several chapters on it without the usual filler.
