I didn't realize this was in a series.Guess I'l have to read the other two Mischief Bay books! I'm a big Susan Mallery fan, but this book didn't leave me with a good feeling. Two sisters brought up by a controlling mother. One a workaholic, with a huge job in biomedical science.Happily married, finds she is pregnant, and doesn't feel any motherly instincts. Add to the mix, the son of her husband's sister who comes to live with them due to her substance abuse problems. The other sister, recently divorced from a jerk, with a teenage daughter, and brought up to be Susie Homemaker like her mom. Struggling with bills, she builds a business as a Virtual Assistant. One of her clients seems to totally have himself involved in everything family, but his actions toward the end of the book, have me questioning his integrity. Throw in three big dogs left by a deceased aunt, and you have a crazy family drama going on!
