I simply cannot say enough good things about this book! It is written from the perspective of the 9 year old main character and tells of his adventures during a summer spent with his grandparents in Kentucky. The first chapter kind of threw me off until I adapted to the writing style and I was hooked from then on. It would be good entertainment for a child to read or have read to them and it is equally charming and delightful for any adult with memories of growing up with bare feet, RC colas, banana flip cakes, and playing outside after dusk. This one goes on my keeper shelf for when I have grandchildren to read to!
