"If you loved Harry Potter, you are going to adore the Twilight series," said my SIL. Perhaps there is another Twilight series and I just read the wrong one. This book was filled with vapid descriptions of how perfect Bella thought her, "personal miracle," was and how unworthy she was.

The author basically set up sceneros where Bella needs rescuing which of course makes teenaged girls sigh and older women who should know better swoon. If Edward wasn't a vampire constantly rescuing Bella, he would be viewed as a weirdo who was overly controling, manipulative, and a stalker. I kept waiting for some real action, and it wasn't until the end of the book when I got some.

If you love the Lifetime channel, have no problem with a sparkly, vegan vampire who doesn't carry his love in his arms, but by piggy back, and enjoy a few hundred pages of, "I love you; no, I love you more," dialogue then by all means this is the book for you. Personally, as a horror movie junkie, I just want to slap Meyer for Bela Lugosi. The man is probably rolling in his grave.
