I don't like writing reviews of books I didn't manage to finish, but... I thought the writing style was pleasant and the WWII part set in Portugal was interesting, but it was sooo slow and I gave up before anything really happened to make me want to continue. I sort of expected a book ala The Shadow of the Wind, but it wasn't to be.
