What an unusual and riveting seafaring romance! Maren was a stubborn girl, in the way only a teenager blindly in love can be. She had a lot of growing up to do, and her time on the whaling ship was the perfect backdrop to come to terms with her own strength and glimpse the softer, tender side of Captain Rune Boyse. But her lessons didn't end once she returned to land, and her heartbreak was palpable. Luckily, she recognized her true heart in the nick of time. 4 stars.
