I didn't find this book the typical chick lit. From the back cover blurb, I gathered that Sandra Berlin's world came to a dizzying halt when she discovered that her fiance (whom she had dated since high school) had TWO other fiancees. So I kind of assumed that what would follow would be the three offended women plotting all sorts of lovely revenge. This is not the path the book takes. I actually found the book a little dark and depressing, the romance that Sandra embarks on with a new man frustrating and annoying. I did not find this to be light, mildly comic fiction and while I read the book to the end, I didn't complete it with a smile or sense of satisfaction. I wouldn't discourage anyone from reading it---it is a well-done book---but if you are looking for light humor and a clear-cut "happily-ever after", then I might look to a different writer and save this novel for a more introspective time.
