Book Review of Mother, I Have Something to Tell You

Mother, I Have Something to Tell You
reviewed on

It's a fear that lurks in the back of your mind when you're a parent, though you try to tell yourself it will never happen to you. Your teenage daughter reveals she is pregnant. Your son tells you he is gay. Your "happy, healthy" child has a nervous breakdown, or goes on drugs, or joins a radical religious cult, or becomes an anorexic, or goes to jail.
This compassionate and insightful book tells the stories of mothers who have undergone these things, and even worse. It illumines their pain, their perplexity, and above all the ways they found to cope with the truth about their children..and to forge new bonds of love and understanding.
