Years ago Abbie Winslow and Jace Rogan had been in love, they had been torn apart by misunderstanding. Each has gone on to build separate lives, but circumstances find them thrown together again and they end up falling in love with each other...again. When Abbie's client confesses to a brutal murder just hours before the end of his murder trial, she is forced to take unethical steps to try and prevent a callous murder from walking free. However, when the jury finds him innocent he swears revenge upon Abbie and sends her fleeing back to her hometown and into Jace's arms for protection. Jace was convinced that his feelings for Abbie had died long ago but when he discovers that her life is in danger, he moves her into his home determined to protect her. Can they overcome the past in order to find a life together and escape a killer that is determined to pay Abbie back for what he sees as her betrayal?

With Just A Whisper, Lauren Nichols effortlessly combines passion and suspense that gave me a story that left me breathlessly turning the next page. The passion and emotion between Abbie and Jace is tangible, while the action keeps the story moving and renders the reader unable put the book down. Just A Whisper is my first Lauren Nichols book, but it most certainly won't be my last.
