Making Miracles: an exploration into the dynamics of self-healing
reviewed on

This is a very interesting, reasonable, and encouraging book. One of the things that impressed me about it was the fact that it is not a sort of "New Age" self-help type book that rejects Western medicine, nor does it claim that someone "cured" himself/herself of a cancer whose original diagnosis itself was in doubt. They really had it, and for the most part, the patients cooperated with regular medical doctors (or, in the case of mental illness, psychiatrists) for their treatment. After each patient's account there are some interesting observations about the case and maybe some comments from the doctors involved.

The author is a licensed psychologist who received his doctorate from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He has published widely in international medical and psychological journals. and maintains a private practice, counseling patients suffering from life-threatening illness.
