A slightly post-teenaged girl ventures to California to meet her dad: a down not quite out screenwriter who is shacked up with a woman who obviously should be doing better. So this is about the beginning of a tempestuous relationship. Witty, sad, everywhere in-between, it's Simon at his best. I think that I enjoyed the movie more.
