Delicious book with wonderful language and dialogue and the most intelligent, articulate, and hilarious banter you will find in a historical novel. A favorite and wonderful reread.

Dain is a perfect scoundrel. Loretta Chase establishes his awful back story explaining why he's such a brute - but misunderstood, unloved, and lonely.

Jessica, the heroine, sees through him and instead of pages of silly misunderstandings, she reads him like a book and helps him realize he's lovable and wonderful. It was quite touching.

Chase doesn't write scorching love scenes, but these were fairly scintillating.
