Francis Ford Coppola has always been my favorite director. The Godfather movies are my favorite films of all time. I've read several books about the Godfather and now this book delivers that and more in a truly spectacular read!

This gives detailed descriptions, anecdotes, and the like of the film maker's life and incredible detail on the production of each and every one of his films from Dementia 13 to John Grisham's The Rainmaker. The chapters on Apocalypse Now is worth the price of the book by themselves.

After reading this book, I bought several DVDs including the movie that broke Coppola financially, One from the Heart. I saw footage and interviews detailed in the book and was surprised how accurate, down to tones of voice and gestures the book was in depicting this fascinating individual.

This book truly gives you a well rounded portrait of the man. It does not treat the subject with reverence, but it doesn't look down on it either. You truly feel when you read the book that you are getting an accurate portrayal of this artist.

My only complaint is that there were too few pictures. There is the obligatory middle section with pictures, but I would have liked to see more.
