An interesting glimpse into the adventures of the Frake family as they set out for the great Iowa State Fair. When the book was first published, readers were "shocked" by the behavior of the Frake kids. Gotta say - I was a bit surprised by their antics myself. Not what I expected from Depression Era rural teens. A good read for those that want a glimpse of a more "innocent" era - and lovers of the state fair like myself.
