This is book 3 in a series, I guess you should read the first 2 before this one but I didn't, I didn't feel lost in this books background because so much is repeated over and over and over, I know a story has to get started but once it starts it should make the reader want to eagerly turn the pages, sooooo, for me that didn't happen, the conversations are stilted and words used that I don't think you'd hear in a normal conversation and I got the feeling that Zanetti wanted to show her knowledge of BIG words, for me it's just an irritation because it has nothing to do with the story, now the MC, Laurel, has a half sister, Abigail (who is evil), so nearly every page Zanetti has to describe what they look like especially the eyes because of the 'condition' they both share one blue one green, okay but not necessary to keep repeating it, soooo

this is very
draggy
dull (for me)
repeating everything over and over (annoying)

after you get the characters in place just go to the last couple chapters and find who the murderer is and why, that's all I needed to know
