In the heart of the Bayou, Ruby Landry lives with her guardian, Granddmere Catherine who is a Cajun spiritual healer and her drunken outcast Grandpere Jack. Soon Ruby's attraction to Paul Tate blossoms into love but the wealthy Tate family forbid Paul to associate with a poor Landry.
