Tracy Whitney, the heroine of this novel, is like all of Sidney Sheldon's leading ladies: She's young, beautiful, bright, and driven. Oh, she's also a professional criminal. The story opens as Tracy is wrongly convicted of attempted murder (well, OK; she DID shoot him!) and begins serving a harrowing prison term. After her surprising release, she plots revenge on all the people who have hurt her. This was my favorite part of the book. Tracy then becomes involved with a con-man and ends up as a world-famous thief, stealing treasures in the capitals of Europe. She also finds love with another thief, but can she trust him?

If you can overlook Tracy's criminal life and the joy she takes in it, you'll love this book. It describes in minute detail how she manages to steal from the most securely-guarded museums, stores, and homes in Europe. There is humor, too, as Tracy and her pal Jeff merrily bounce from caper to caper, outsmarting the authorities and narrowly escaping capture. Another great Sidney Sheldon page-turner!
