Dwight L. Moody (1837-1899) was a highly acclaimed turn-of-the-century evangelist. He founded many churches and Sunday schools and later established the Moody Bible Institute of Chicago and the Bible Institute Colportage Association, now Moody Press. He survived the turbulence of the Civil War and the Great Chicago Fire. He and his wife Emma, had two children. (From the back cover)
