One of Carr's lighter novels, mildly amusing throughout but never laugh-out-loud funny. The solution to the mystery, and the motives of those involved, are a little hard to buy. If you are a Carr fan, worth the read. If you havn't read him before, try To Wake the Dead or the Witch of the Low Tide instead.
