Standard romance about a daffy woman working lots of different jobs to make ends meet while studying for an advanced degree and the rich boss who falls in love with her at first sight. Wacky sidekicks, lovable dog, younger tell-it-like-it-is brother, and so on and so on. Mindless fluff that still makes sense even after you realize your thoughts have been wandering and you haven't really been listening to the narrator for a bit. Which, to me, was a bit of a blessing in disguise, because I am not at all fond of C.J. Critt's voice and reading style. She can't seem to read any sentence without trying to make it sound like it is the most important one in the whole book. I admit that I was disappointed when I heard her voice start barking at me from the speakers. I like Evanovich every once in a while, but much prefer her Plum novels.
