This is the fourth book in the White Trash Zombie series. I continue to enjoy this series, I just love how far Angel has come as a character. I am not sure whether or not more books are planned for this series.

Angel is enjoying finally having her GED, working at the morgue, and helping out at the Zombie lab...shes even entertaining thoughts of going to college. That is until Saberton Corporation kidnaps the lead scientist from the so called Zombie Mafia. Now Angel and her fellow Zombie Mafia members have to take a roadtrip to get him back and set Saverton Corporation to rights once and for all.

These books continue to be fun and light urban fantasy reads. There was more action in this book than in previous ones. Angel finally gets some combat training and gets to try out some zombie mods (which amplify her parasitic zombie powers). I continue to really enjoy the idea of zombism via parasite.

While I have enjoyed watching Angel progress from white trash human to more successful zombie there are a couple of things that continue to bother me about her. She continues to see herself as a victim, although she working on that. Also I am sick of her on again off again relationship with Marcus, she does make some progress here as well...I just hope she sticks to her guns in future books.

There are some pretty cool developments as far as what the zombies can do and how they work in this book. I mentioned above we learn more about zombie mods and ports, which are ways zombies can amplify certain abilities. The idea of transformation is also introduced, this is how a zombie parasite/person can be moved from body to body. It was very neat to learn more about how mature zombies operate and it ends up there is so much more here than we were introduced to earlier in the series.

The only other problem I have with these books is they tend to be a bit long and wandering at parts, I think the story could have been a lot tighter. Also the whole Saberton Corporation coupled with defense contract plotline is starting to look an awful lot like a big government cover up or conspiracy.not my favorite thing to read about.

Overall a decentinstallmentt in the White Trash Zombie series. I enjoyed this book and especially enjoyed some of the new zombie powers/background we learn about. I also continue to enjoy watching Angel grow as a character, although I will admit some of her actions still annoy me at times. I am curious to see where this series is going and will most likely continue to read it. I recommend this series to those who like urban fantasy and are looking for a different type of zombie story.
