This book was a good read, continuing the story of The Ill Made Mute. The heroine rediscovers her looks and her voice, travels to court to report the treasure found under Waterstair, and attempts to discover more about where she comes from. I enjoyed this book and the twists it provided, although there are many stories 'told' by other characters through the book that seem to keep popping up and slowing the pace of the main story line. These stories do seem to add to the readers knowledge as you go along, however some seem pointless and redundant after a while. However, if you can get past that, the rest of the story is engaging.
