What I found really interesting about "North to Alaska" was how Macomber related so much of the Alaskan terrain and lifestyle. An outdoorsy but romantic rogue in Alaska is far different from the romantic rogues of the West, and their jobs are more cutting edge, because of the extreme weather and their jobs which take them through such remote country.
These were delightful romances with bush pilot types falling in love with city girls, and fun to watch how Macomber plays out the changes the women must go through to adapt to such rough and rustic terrain - and men!
An interesting read! The reader can't help but think, "Boy, could I rise to the challenge as well as these women trying to make a new life in the wilds of Alaska?"
