Oh how I wanted to love this book! Oh how completely disappointed I was! Nearly all of us of a "certain age" remember John Lennon, first hand. This ridiculous speck of fiction did nothing to warm the memories of my heart or mind. Instead, the author made me feel as if he wanted to force me to remember - and did it with a very heavy hand. Being a true member and spectator, I can honestly tell you that not everyone of that era spoke in that "hippy-dippy, we're cool and you're not", jargon. Some of us loved John for his music and some simply loved the man for being the man. No matter which side of that line you lean toward, this book is a pile of ill-written clap-trap! I could have had more fun reading about John Lennon from a phone book. Insightful? - NO! Insipid? - DEFINATELY!
