Told in multiple POVs, sometimes minute by minute as the day progresses but then for some going a long time past into their backstory. Not my favorite method of storytelling, it feels so chopped up - I can't get into the character before the POV changes to another. At the very end that same choppiness provided a sense of urgency since you're skipping from person to person every few sentences, but for the most part it felt very slow to unfold. We know what's coming, although we don't know how bad it will be, but it takes a long time to get there. All the characters who have POV chapters are likeable, in some cases quite interesting - I'd like to have learned more about Tio - plus King does some interesting misdirection for a couple of them. What else...I didn't see the need for the Fool from King's other series to show up and the same for the subplot about the possibly haunted house. It feels like King had a lot of small idea tidbits and worked them all into one story.
