This was Leonard's followup to The Hot Kid which I just finished a few days ago. In this one, it's 1945 and U.S. Marshal Carl Webster goes to Detroit after a couple of escaped German POWs. While there, he meets Honey Deal who was married to Walter Schoen, a German who could have been Heinreich Himmler's identical twin. He and Himmler were born on the same day in the same hospital in Germany and Walter also has the same Nazi ideology. Walter is hatching a big plan to do something for the Fuehrer on his birthday. In the mean time, a group of Nazi spies are also active in the city. Honey may know something about the Nazis or she may just be after Carl.

This was a rather light-weight novel by Leonard. It was sometimes comic and was an easy read but I prefer his more gritty crime stories. Only a slight recommendation for this one.
