When Miss Lorna Jarrett met Lord Peter Truesdale, the Earl of Norwell, they detested each other at first sight.
The Earl was certain he had never met a young lady so unbending in manner and so shockingly outspoken in opion as htis country bred miss.
Lorna was convinced she had never met a gentleman so infuriatingly arrogant and so thoroughly conceited as this smug lord from London.
Needless to say, they both did everything in their power to escape being matched with each other.
Needless to say, everything was not quite enough.
----One of my favorite Barbara Hazard books, good ending.
