The funny, surprising, and 100 percent real letters of a New York writer and the staff of a secondhand bookstore in London in the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s.

A very quick read, made into a movie and a play.

You'll get a sense of what it was like to live in postwar London and what it was like to be a not-quite-starving artist in New York.

I had to reread my copy before posting it on this database. :-)
