In this third book of the series, Meg Corey is looking forward to harvesting her apples although she will be the first to admit that she is dependent upon others to teach her the business. Her relationship with Seth is going nicely, her orchard manager is working out well, and all is good. When her friend from Boston calls with a request that she see if she can help out a young couple who want to start a restaurant out where they can use locally grown foods, Meg is happy to help. However, in the midst of all the planning, one of the couple's friends (who is part of the venture) is found dead in a pig wallow. As one can guess, he did not die of natural causes.

Meg's friend from Boston, Lauren, is a character that plays a big role in this book. The budding romance between Lauren and Detective Marcus disconcerting to Meg, so it will be interesting to see how that is played out in the next book.

This book did not disappoint and did not lose momentum as sometimes happens in a series. I'm looking forward to the next one.
