I found it an interesting book to look through. The editors demonstrate well their skill with this volume.
I found it on the 'free' book truck at the branch library when I was dropping off some magazines read sixty pages on the long bus ride out, and believe it will go well on the shelf at the old soldiers' home (it was taken up immediately).
Well illustrated, with short paragraphs explaining the significance of the innovation being discussed. For example in 'The Image Dissectors' (4 pages)the star rightly is Farnsworth but it ends with 'How Plasma TVs Work' and 'How Atoms Shed Light.' I hadn't realized how important the findings of late 19th C. scientists were to Farnsworth--they are cited in the article as it explains how his ideas about television evolved.
