Book Review of Mary Queen-of-Scots

Mary Queen-of-Scots
reviewed on + 1775 more book reviews

A twisted tale, Mary being married three times as was her grandmother, Henry VII's daughter Margaret. Mary had much trouble in outmaneuvering Scotland's lords, having herself few loyal supporters. This was while she had her 'eye on the prize,' i.e. being tapped to succeed Elizabeth I.
The author, who is well established, tells the story well through four sections labeled Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter.
Index but no footnotes or bibliography. There are quite a few portraits reproduced.
