Rating 3.5 stars.....If I Can't Have You by Mary B. Morrison follows Granville Washington, and three long time girlfriends Loretta, Madison and Tisha.... then there was Chicago, Chaz and Raynard.....Granville was not a bad looking man but in his mind he has it going on.
He has a great job in construction, a big truck and a big.....but that 's about it but in Granville's mind, any woman would want a
catch like him......that is until they date him then all hell breaks lose.......Then along comes Loretta who is single mother with a beautiful six-year-old daughter......Loretta is still wounded from the break-up with her daughter's father, Raynard...although he is married to someone else she still wants him back but finally decides to try and move on.......So when she briefly starts dating Granville, she thinks he may be the distraction she needs. Could Granville possibly be the man to finally take her mind off of Raynard....Then there is Madison a catch to most men. Madison is highly successful,
beautiful and has been engaged not once, not twice but a whopping nine times. When Madison becomes engaged to a man worth millions of dollars,
Loretta is disgusted. Could it be she is jealous or does she really have Madison's financee's best interest at heart? No sure of the reason for Loretta's reaction to Madison engagement......The story then takes a slightly dangerous turn when Loretta makes Madison a bet that Madison wouldn't be unable to take Granville off her hands and tame him. Madison accepts being one who always have to win but little did either one of them know how bad this bet would turn out to be for both of them. Then there was Tisha and her husband Daryl not sure what either of there roles were in the story......There were a few parts in the book that was making me wonder why were these people even friends......Also, there was no explanation to quite a few things that was happen in the story......I was really DISAPPOINTED with the ending .....To be Continued is NOT the way to end a book.....at least not to me.....
